This prize which is sponsored by Professor Richard Welbury is open to BSPD members and seeks entries from researchers who are not yet established in their field. Therefore, in cases where the applicant has undertaken a PhD, he/she should not be more than one-year post-doctorate. The aim of this prize is to reward original recently completed clinical research in the field of paediatric dentistry. The judging process will take into consideration the clinical nature and impact of the project.  Researchers with laboratory-based studies or systematic reviews should consider the poster prize.

Up to six entries, which best meet the entry criteria and standards, will be invited to present their work at the annual scientific meeting.  Participants will give a 10-minute oral presentation, which will be followed by five minutes of questions.  Presenters will be assessed by three members of the CAPC according to standard criteria.
