To present the most up to date protocols for the management of periodontal ligament injuries in the child and adolescent


Objectives


1. Participants will have enough information to provide emergency and follow up care for common traumatic injuries affecting the periodontal ligament

2. Participants will understand when to refer patients to specialists or consultants in paediatric dentistry

  • To discuss the dental management of children with complex and rare medical conditions
  • To discuss the variations in care in a range of international settings

Objectives

Following this session, participants will have:

  • Gained an insight into the complexity of medical care delivered in a tertiary care paediatric hospital
  • Developed an understanding of the principles involved in planning and providing dental care for children with a special healthcare need
  • Increased their exposure to some of the international variations in the practice of Paediatric Dentistry
